Using it today

Can I use it today?

It isn’t open for signup yet. The hosted sandbox is switched off while we rebuild the part underneath it, and there’s nowhere to send a request yet. The waitlist is how access opens.

If you want to talk before then, write to us at support@sandstonecloud.com.

Is there a launch date?

No date is set.

What will it cost?

Nothing is for sale yet.

If an old link to our pricing page brought you here, the plans it showed are gone, and none of them apply.

What happens to my address on the waitlist?

The sandbox isn’t open yet. When it’s back, we’ll write and tell you.

Want off the list? Email support@sandstonecloud.com and we’ll delete your address. Whatever you wrote in the optional box about what you’re building goes with it. On the list itself, what stays behind is a one-way hash of the address, the date and the reason, so that we can show the deletion happened.

The privacy policy lists what else is stored with your address.

If you use an app built on it

You would only ever meet KAPEX inside an app. The controls in this group are built and tested, and there’s no app you can try them in yet; when there is, that app decides how it all looks on your screen.

What does it keep?

It keeps what you would want a friend to keep. Names, plans, the things you care about.

Underneath, it stores the words of each conversation under each person and topic it picks out. What it hands the app before a reply is a short note drawn from them.

For example, that you’re cooking for a friend’s birthday on Saturday, or that you like short answers.

Don’t count on it to take out card or ID numbers yet. There’s a filter for them, but it doesn’t run on every path into storage.

Can I see what it has on me, and delete it?

Yes. You can see what it remembers about you, and change it. Keep it, hide it, fix it, or delete it.

When you fix a line, the old version stays underneath, marked as replaced, so the change can be traced. Deleting the corrected line doesn’t yet remove that old version. Some notes it files under you instead of under a line also stay until everything held for you is erased.

You can take every line it keeps about you as a file. How you ask for it depends on the app.

Every control, and what’s behind it

Will it bring up things I don’t want it to?

It asks before it brings something up. If you ask it to leave something alone, it stops handing that to the app.

Hiding is not deleting. The line stays on your list, where you can change your mind.

Can it be used with health information?

No. KAPEX should not be used with protected health information. Sandstone Cloud cannot sign the agreement that handling it requires.

What hasn’t been audited

If you build apps

The developer page has the calls written out, and both sets of routes.

Which AI models can an app use with it?

Whichever one it uses now. The note KAPEX hands back is plain text, and your app puts it in the instructions it already sends, so the model never has to know KAPEX is there.

An app can switch models without touching anything KAPEX holds for its users, because that lives outside the model.

KAPEX also calls a model of its own while it reads a turn: one on Amazon Bedrock, or Anthropic directly if the Bedrock call fails and an Anthropic key is set. Its embeddings come from Amazon Titan, also on Bedrock. Those providers belong in your data review.

Do I have to change my model or my prompts?

Your model stays as it is. Your prompt gains one thing, the short note KAPEX hands back, which your app adds to the instructions it already sends. After the reply, your app sends KAPEX the new turn. That is the whole loop: a call before your model answers, and the turn sent over after.

Does it work in other languages?

We don’t know yet. It’s been built and tested in English, some parts of it only read English today, and other languages haven’t been tested.

What happens if we stop using it?

Your app still works. It just doesn’t remember.

Before you go, export each person’s memories, then erase each person. An erase leaves a record you can check. The developer page has the calls, and what each export includes.

Can we run it ourselves?

There’s nothing to run yet. The image isn’t published and the code is private. The developer page has the setup we intend, what sits beside it, and the model calls it makes on its own.

Is there a package to install?

The Python and TypeScript clients are in our private repository and aren’t on PyPI or npm. The container image isn’t on a registry either. So, not yet.

Is KAPEX open source?

The code is in a private repository, so no.

Why not build this ourselves?

You can. Storing what people say is quick. The slow part is choosing what to hand the model each time, and giving people a list they can read, fix and delete, with a record left behind.

That’s what KAPEX is, and it’s built and tested in the engine. If your app is one conversation and done, you need none of it.

Do you publish numbers?

You won’t find study or benchmark figures on this site. The ones on our old pages don’t stand. The developer page says how to test it against whatever you use now.

How to judge it yourself

Can I see how it decides what matters?

That part stays private. How KAPEX weighs one thing against another isn’t published, and this site leaves it out on purpose.

What it holds about you is a different matter. An app can fetch every line held about a person with the export call the developer page recommends, and show it to them. If you’re building with it and need more, write to us.

The company

Who are you?

Oliver La Roche and Jemell Sanders are the co-founders. Oliver is the solutions architect and looks after building and vision; Jemell looks after security and bug squashing. Tosin Oyewole is our CMO and leads business development and people.

The company is Sandstone Cloud, LLC. It has no venture money. We don’t publish an address, so email is the way to reach us.

More about each of us

How do you say KAPEX, and what is memoryware?

K-Apex, like the top of a mountain with a K in front.

Memoryware is our word for software that sits under an app and holds what the app has learned about the people who use it. KAPEX is one thing we make.

Has anyone audited it?

Nobody outside the company has audited it.

The security page lists what exists and what doesn’t.

What happened to the old pages?

We took them down in September because some of what they said was not true, and some of what they offered was not running.

If you saw a price, a trial offer or a number on the old pages, don’t rely on it. None of it stands.

How do I reach a person?

Write to support@sandstonecloud.com. A person reads it. Right now that person is Oliver.
